Virginia Is For Racing Lovers GP - VIR
Virginia International Raceway hosts the Michelin GT Challenge and Virginia Is For Racing Lovers Grand Prix in August 2026, delivering high-speed GT action on one of America's most iconic and scenic road courses. As one of the first permanent American road racing tracks, VIR features high-speed straights, challenging turns and dramatic elevation changes. The weekend represents one of the season's largest spectator events. Originally opened in 1957, the track was closed in 1974 and spectacularly revived in 2000 by Harvey Siegel and Connie Nyholm. VIR was transformed into America's first motorsport resort, combining a racetrack with lodging, dining, and additional recreational facilities.
