Portland
Portland International Raceway is a permanent road course with its 1.967-mile length and 12-turn layout on flat terrain and is the series' only stop in the Pacific Northwest. The track features multiple heavy-braking passing zones, including a quick chicane at the end of the frontstretch. The race was an annual event from 1984 to 2007 in the CART and Champ Car World Series, and after a ten-year hiatus, returned with the IndyCar Series in 2018. In 1997, it set the records for the closest two-car and closest three-car finishes in IndyCar history on road courses, with Mark Blundell beating Gil de Ferran by 0.027 seconds.
