Dunlop Sydney 500
The 2026 Repco Supercars Championship kicks off at Sydney Motorsport Park, with the return of the Sydney 500. This is the only Supercars night race of the year. Since 2018, this is the only active Supercars event held in metropolitan Sydney. The format features a 100-km sprint on Friday and 200-km races on Saturday and Sunday. The event has been a semi-regular part of the Supercars Championship and its previous incarnations since 1992. John Bowe won both races of the inaugural championship event in 1992. The circuit was built in 1990 and underwent a major upgrade and name change in 2012 to Sydney Motorsport Park.
