Springfield Mile 1
The Springfield Mile is a legendary racing venue with history dating to 1937. Located at the Illinois State Fairgrounds, it is known as the world's fastest mile and ranks among the most significant events on the Progressive American Flat Track schedule. The slightly over one-mile course, with its smooth and fine-grained dirt surface, provides ideal conditions for highly competitive racing with victories often decided by tenths of a second. The Springfield Miles I and II traditionally take place during Labor Day weekend and play a crucial role in determining the Grand National Champion, as they are among the final races of the season.
