Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg
The Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg serves as the NTT IndyCar Series season opener for the 16th time. The 1.808-mile, 14-turn street circuit uses downtown streets and an airport runway for the start-finish straightaway, with tight opening corners often creating drama and a technical middle section representing one of the most challenging track segments on the IndyCar calendar. After initially joining the city with CART in 2003, IndyCar made St. Petersburg its first non-oval event in 2005, and it has remained a series staple ever since.
