TT Assen
Assen is the longest serving venue on the calendar, having held a round every year since 1949 with the sole exception of 2020. The track is narrow, with rapid changes in direction, and is fully surrounded by grass banks and grandstands, providing excellent viewing for the hundreds of thousands of fanatical spectators. Assen is popular with fans due to its incredible track layout, fantastic atmosphere and unique final chicane, which has been the setting for many legendary moments in the sport. The racing circuit was shortened from 7.705 kilometres to 4.555 kilometres in 2006 and the track layout was significantly changed in some sections while retaining its basic characteristics. The course is run clockwise, is 14 metres wide and has twelve right-hand and six left-hand corners.
