The NASCAR Cup Series returned to Chicagoland in 2026 after a seven-year absence. The race was the 19th event of the season and the second race of the In-Season Challenge. The 1.5-mile track is known for its high-speed racing and dramatic photo finishes. Chicagoland hosted the opening race of the playoffs from 2011 to 2017 and holds a prominent place in the series' history.

The IndyCar: Chicagoland Qualifying took place at Chicagoland Speedway in Joliet, Illinois. The race track is a 2.446-kilometer-long asphalt-surfaced tri-oval circuit with four turns. The turns feature 18 degrees of banking, while the straightaway sections have 11 degrees of banking on the front stretch and 5 degrees on the backstretch. The speedway opened in 2001 and is an international motorsports event facility that served in part as a qualifying venue for IndyCar races before the series discontinued its events there in 2011.
