Watkins Glen - Go Bowling At The Glen
The course in upstate New York features seven turns with 141 feet of total elevation change. Watkins Glen differs from other road courses through speed facilitation - NextGen cars reach up to 190 miles per hour on the backstretch, a pace unmatched on any other course. The race was first run in 1957 with Buck Baker as the inaugural winner. Since 1986, Watkins Glen has been a steady and hugely popular event for the NASCAR Cup Series and was one of only two annual road course events on the schedule for nearly four decades. Tony Stewart holds the all-time record with five victories.
