NC - All-Star
The 42nd running of the NASCAR All-Star Race takes place at Dover for the first time on a one-mile oval and marks the event's debut in the Northeast. Dover's famous "Monster Mile" is a one-mile concrete oval with 24-degree banking in the turns, its concrete surface having replaced the original asphalt in 1995 following the track's opening in 1969. The All-Star Race is a 350-lap exhibition event featuring no championship points, in which NASCAR's top drivers compete for a one million dollar grand prize.
