Okayama
Okayama is the traditional opening venue where the season kicks off. The 3.7-kilometre Grand Prix circuit at Okayama International Circuit ranks among Japan's six major motorsport facilities. The track was constructed in 1989 in mountainous terrain, with an estimated 100 million US dollars spent on its development. Since 1998, Okayama has been a regular fixture for the Japanese GT Championship, from which modern Super GT originated.
