Portuguese Round
The Portuguese Round is the second race weekend of the World Superbike season. The circuit at Autodromo Internacional do Algarve is defined by its undulations, earning the nickname rollercoaster. The 4,592-metre track features nine right-hand and six left-hand turns, with Bergauf- and Bergabpassagen, height changes and an intricate infield. The official opening took place on 2 November 2008 with the Superbike-WM season finale. The series has since been a regular visitor to Portimão every year, except 2016. Jonathan Rea is by far the most successful rider at Portimão with 13 race wins, ahead of Toprak Razgatlioglu with three.
