The Martinsville Speedway is a 0.847 km oval track located in Ridgeway, Virginia, built in 1947. With its distinctive paperclip shape and banking of only 12 degrees in the turns, it ranks among the shortest and most technically demanding tracks in the NASCAR Cup Series. The Martinsville Speedway's surface is unique: the straightaways are paved with asphalt, while the turns are covered with concrete. Since its founding in 1947, the track has continuously hosted NASCAR events, making it the only racing facility on the entire NASCAR circuit since its inception in 1948.
