Martinsville - Cook Out 400
The Cook Out 400 is a NASCAR Cup Series race held annually at Martinsville Speedway in the spring. It has been run since 1950 and represents an important fixture on the racing calendar. Martinsville Speedway is only 0.526 miles in length and features tight corners and a unique shape described as a paperclip. Founded in 1947, Martinsville Speedway is the only track that has hosted NASCAR Cup Series races every year since the division's inception in 1949. Martinsville has one feature that no other track on the NASCAR circuit does: while the straights are paved with asphalt, the corners are concrete. The winner of this race receives a grandfather clock, which has been a tradition.
