Misano
The Misano event marks round five of the GT World Challenge Europe Sprint Cup season. Misano World Circuit maintains a longstanding relationship with the GT World Challenge powered by AWS. Originally designed in 1969 and opened in 1972, the circuit underwent comprehensive transformation from 2005 to 2007, reversing its layout direction and expanding to its current 4.226-kilometer configuration with 16 corners. In 2012, the track was renamed to honour Marco Simoncelli, a local motorcycle racer who died in 2011. The grandstands hold more than 100,000 spectators, creating an atmosphere resembling that of a football stadium.
