[TEST] Barcelona
Barcelona marks the opening round of the eleventh season of the Michelin Le Mans Cup. The six-event series began at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya on 11 April. The Cup has become the benchmark series for amateur drivers taking their first steps into endurance racing. The series is open to Le Mans Prototypes in the LMP3 category and grand tourer sports cars in the GT3 class. Located just outside of Barcelona, the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya was built in 1991 and took over the Spanish Grand Prix the very same year. With long straights and a variety of corners, the circuit is seen as an all-rounder circuit. The Catalan track in Montmeló was constructed as part of Barcelona's preparations for the 1992 Olympic Games, aiming to bring the Spanish Grand Prix back to Barcelona. The circuit hosts the esteemed Spanish Formula One Grand Prix.
