The Sepang International Circuit is a permanent racing track in Sepang, Malaysia, approximately 60 kilometers south of Kuala Lumpur. The circuit was opened in 1999 and designed by renowned German architect Hermann Tilke. It is characterized by wide straights and sweeping corners that provide numerous overtaking opportunities. The Sepang International Circuit is known for extreme heat and humidity as well as frequent rainfall, prompting multiple resurfacing efforts to improve water drainage and driver safety.
