Silverstone 500
The Silverstone 500 returns as the 2026 British GT Championship season opener, marking the first time since 2001 that Silverstone hosts the opening round. The event at the world-famous Grand Prix Circuit offers the demanding conditions of endurance racing, supercar spectacle and family entertainment. As the season opener with big points on offer and no prior form to lean on, it brings a sense of reset across the grid, making it one of the most compelling rounds to watch. Three mandatory driver changes in three hours ensure that tactics as well as speed play a crucial role in deciding who lifts the historic RAC Trophy, first awarded at Brooklands in 1932.

The Silverstone Circuit is a permanent racing track located in Silverstone, Great Britain, built on the site of a former Royal Air Force airfield that was first used for motorsport in 1948. The circuit is characterized by a relatively flat surface and high-speed corners such as Maggotts-Becketts-Chapel, where drivers experience lateral forces exceeding five G. Silverstone hosted the first official Formula 1 World Championship race in 1950 and remains one of the most renowned venues in motorsport.
